Jewelry Policy

Welcome to Indian Touch of Gallup. By creating an account or completing a purchase with us, you are agreeing to the following terms of our agreement to ensure a smooth and transparent transaction:

Our Diverse Jewelry

At Indian Touch of Gallup, we are deeply rooted in the tradition of Native American jewelry, art, and products, which form the foundation of our business. These core principles and values have shaped our company from the very start, and much of our jewelry reflects these roots. Our Native American collection features authentic, handcrafted pieces from Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, and various reservations. The skilled artistry of tribes such as the Navajo, Cherokee, Apache, Pueblo, Zuni, and others is beautifully showcased in these unique creations, each representing centuries of culture, tradition, and jewelry.

In addition to our Native American offerings, we provide a diverse selection of jewelry from around the world. Alongside our U.S.-made items, we carry stunning pieces from different origins of the world. This variety offers our customers a wide range of styles and designs, reflecting the artistry of different cultures. It is important to note that our global jewelry is to represented as its labeled, and nothing else.

Our commitment to authenticity, quality, and transparency shines through in every product we offer.

By offering such a wide variety, our goal is to be a one-stop shop for our customers, making it easy for everyone to find something they love. We strive to ensure that shopping with us is an inclusive and fulfilling experience for all.

Native American Art

At Indian Touch of Gallup, our passion lies in Native American jewelry, products, and art. We proudly offer a wide selection of handcrafted items by Native American artisans, including necklaces, pendants, earrings, squashes, rings, bracelets, bolos, money clips, hair barrettes, and more, all showcasing exceptional craftsmanship.

We are dedicated to ensuring that every piece is accurately represented, with precise labeling of materials, craftsmanship, and tribal origins. Our mission is to honor and promote the rich cultural traditions of the Navajo, Cherokee, Apache, Pueblo, Zuni, and other Native tribes by offering customers genuine, handcrafted jewelry that carries deep cultural significance.

We understand how vital it is to provide accurate information for each piece, including the artist’s name. While we work diligently with hundreds of Native artisans to ensure each artist is properly credited, there may be rare occasions when an item is mislabeled. If you notice an error, please notify us immediately, and we will resolve it as swiftly as possible. These mistakes are never intentional, and we are committed to correcting any issues promptly. While we strive to prevent mislabeling, we acknowledge that human error can occur, and we will always do our best to fix it.

Though we make every effort to ensure each piece is signed and stamped, there may be instances where a piece isn’t stamped due to the volume of jewelry we handle. If you come across an unstamped item, please inform us so we can address it promptly. Again, while we strive to prevent this from happening, occasional oversights may occur, and we are dedicated to resolving them quickly.

At Indian Touch of Gallup, we believe in the importance of transparency and trust. Both our team and our customers share the responsibility of ensuring the accurate representation of Native American jewelry. While mistakes may happen, we are committed to resolving any issues promptly and doing everything we can to prevent them from happening again.

In addition to jewelry, we offer other handcrafted Native American products, such as:

Hand-painted paintings by Navajo artists.

Horsehair and clay pottery.

Handmade knives with deer antler handle and high-carbon steel.

Hand-carved stone fetishes.

Handcrafted leather dreamcatchers.

We provide much more than just Native American jewelry, offering a wide variety of authentic, handcrafted products. We try our best to make sure everything is labeled appropriately. As stated early, while mistakes may happen in labeling product, we are committed to resolving any issues promptly and doing everything we can to prevent them from happening again

Jewelry Made Around the World

It is important to note that the items in our global jewelry collection are not to be labeled or represented as Native American-made jewelry, Native jewelry, or Native art. These pieces are part of our broader offering of jewelry made globally, designed to complement our other collections. We offer this type of jewelry as to enhance our variety while maintaining our commitment to quality and craftsmanship.

Our collections highlight the beauty of natural stones such as turquoise, spiny oyster, black jet, malachite, larimar, and coral, as well as compressed stones like Purple Mojave, Pink Dahlia, Spiny Turquoise, and more. We price these pieces to provide affordable luxury, making them accessible to customers who appreciate fine jewelry.

Our jewelry in this collection comes from various regions around the world, including India, Indonesia, Mexico, and other countries. Regardless of their origin, each piece is clearly labeled with its country of origin, ensuring transparency and upholding our ethical standards. The same core values—quality, integrity, and honesty—that guide our Native American jewelry apply to this collection as well.

It is crucial that both we and our customers do not represent these items as Native American-made or Native jewelry. We take great care to ensure that all jewelry is labeled accurately, ensuring that it is correctly identified and not misrepresented. Upholding these ethical values is essential to maintaining the trust of our customers.

For example, our HaDa fashion collection is Western-inspired, non-Native American jewelry, and we clearly communicate this distinction through clear labeling both in-store and online. This collection is primarily sourced from India, and we label and stamp “HaDa” on these pieces to help customers easily distinguish them from our Native American offerings.

Additionally, we oIer a range of Southwestern inspired gift items that include rings, pendants, knives, keychains, letter openers, card holders, and much more. These items are machine-made or casted and are not handmade. We label these products as “Southwest Style Gift Items”, or just simply “Southwest style” and they should never be misrepresented as Native American jewelry or Native-made art.

We also carry jewelry from Indonesia and Mexico, created by talented artisans from those regions. pieces are labeled with accurate details to ensure they are properly represented.

It is important that all these items are correctly identified and labeled to ensure transparency with our customers. Our goal is to provide clarity regarding the origin and production of these pieces, maintaining a clear distinction between our fashion jewelry that comes from across the globe and our Native American jewelry offerings.

Silver Pearl Beads

At Indian Touch of Gallup, our commitment to authenticity, transparency, and ethical practices guides every aspect of how we handle our silver pearl beads. We take great care to label and present our products with accuracy, ensuring that our customers fully understand what they are purchasing. It is crucial that machine-made pearls are not misrepresented, as we stand firmly against the misrepresentation of any jewelry, especially Native American items.

How We Label Our Sterling Silver Pearl Beads:

Handmade Pearl Beads: These are meticulously crafted by Native American artisans, reflecting skills and labor-intensive craftsmanship. As such, these pieces are priced higher to reflect the artistry and time involved. We label these items as handmade Native American jewelry, providing information about the artist and tribe when applicable. Examples include pieces crafted by Treva Jim, which are priced higher due to the craftsmanship.

Machine-Made Pearl Beads: Most of our machine-made pearls are hand-strung by Theresa Skeets, who handles about 90-95% of the work, while the remaining are strung by other artisans or overseas. These pearls are machine-made, not handmade, and are labeled as hand strung pearls and are to be represented as fashion-style jewelry. We ensure that these items are never misrepresented as Native American jewelry. Regardless of who strung them, they should not be represented as Navajo Jewelry, and to be represented and labeled as fashion-style jewelry or just simply as hand strung pearls, but not represented as Native American jewelry.

How We Price Our Machine-Made Pearls:

Our machine-made pearl beads are priced based on their weight, regardless of where they are strung or by whom. These pearls should never be marketed or priced as handmade or as Native American jewelry, as they are not. They are clearly distinguished as just hand strung pearls, providing an affordable option.

Commitment to Integrity and Transparency

We believe that ethical labeling and representation are essential to preserving the trust we have built over the years. As such, we no longer label machine-made pearls with the names of those who string them, as this can lead to confusion. Moving forward, we will continue to label our machine-made pearls as just hand strung pearl jewelry, with a clear distinction between handmade Native American pearls and machine-made pearls.

Misrepresenting machine-made pearls as handmade or assigning them higher value based on who strung them goes against the core values of our business. We expect our customers and business partners to uphold these same values when marketing and selling our products.

Addressing Misunderstandings

If there is any confusion between hand-strung machine-made pearls and handmade pearls, we are here to clarify. We offer both, and the distinction is crucial. Handmade pearls, such as those crafted by Treva Jim, are priced higher and reflect the Native American craftsmanship involved. If customers are seeking authentic handmade Native American pearls, we are happy to guide them to the correct items in our inventory

Labeling and Representation Policy for Jewelry, Items, and Pearls

At Indian Touch of Gallup, we hold ourselves to the highest standards of authenticity, transparency, and ethical practices. These values are central to how we label, represent, and sell all our products. From Native American handmade jewelry to our global jewelry pieces and silver pearls, our goal is to ensure that every item is labeled accurately and ethically, allowing our customers to make informed purchasing decisions.

Ethical Representation and Transparency

We believe that ethical representation is fundamental to maintaining the trust of our customers and partners. In the wholesale business, fairness is central to our approach, and we are dedicated to maintaining strong, long-term relationships with our customers. Our pricing is based on market conditions, the cost of supplies, artist pricing, and the labor involved in the creation of each piece.

At Indian Touch of Gallup, our core values are centered on ethical labeling and fair pricing. We are proud of the relationships we’ve built and are excited to continue growing and fostering friendships with our customers through transparency, trust, and mutual respect
